LUNG CONDITIONS

LUNG CONDITIONS

Many lung conditions are related to allergies and asthma, including:

    • Exercise-induced asthma
    • Cough
    • Vocal cord dysfunction

EXERCISE-INDUCED ASTHMA

Exercise-induced asthma usually occurs 5 to 20 minutes after exercise. Symptoms can worsen in very cold and/or dry conditions.

COUGH

In most cases, cough is caused by a bacterial infection or virus that disappears on its own. A persistent cough can be a sign of something more serious – like asthma. Proper diagnosis is the first step in managing this condition.

VOCAL CORD DYSFUNCTION

This happens when the vocal cords don’t open properly, causing asthma-like symptoms such as:

    • Difficulty breathing
    • Wheezing
    • Cough
    • Throat tightness
    • Hoarseness and vocal changes

Many people with asthma have vocal cord dysfunction. Since the treatments are very different, proper diagnosis by our KCAA specially trained physicians is crucial.
